Service your HVAC system prior to restarting or returning to the workforce.

HVAC systems that have been shut down temporarily should be correctly maintained and inspected by CFM Air Conditioning technicians in-line with the building HVAC regulations and standards.

Cooling towers and condenser water systems can build up corrosion, water can become stagnant, bacteria can grow and indoor air quality compromised.

It is important offices and building managers ensure HVAC systems are serviced prior to restarting.

Before workers return to work and the HVAC system has been temporarily shut down, you must abide by the health and safety regulations to ensure your HVAC system is inspected, serviced and maintained.

A qualified HVAC technician should provide you with a letter of inspection to ensure ongoing building compliance is met.

CFM Air Conditioning can provide you with a letter of inspection if we attend your premises and inspect, and or service your heating, ventilation and cooling system.

“There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through HVAC systems, however having your HVAC system set to allow more air circulation in common areas and limiting or not using recirculated air and increasing outside air intake, if possible, may help minimise the risk of COVID-19 spreading in your workplace.

AIR CONDITIONING ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE & COVID-19

NOT having a well-maintained HVAC system in commercial buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic can pose a risk.

The virus is known to be spread mostly by droplets on surfaces, however, there is a possibility of airborne transmission of the COVID-19 virus spreading as droplet nuclei (2.5 to 10 µm) can remain suspended in the air for hours and therefore can be entrained into HVAC systems.

CFM saved the City of Darebin council $10K in refrigerant gas costs

CFM Air Conditioning received a urgent request for HVAC repairs to the Preston Library on behalf of City of Darebin, who has remained a loyal client for over 12 years.

Upon arrival, we found that the old Carrier compressor had failed, with multiple leaks from the gaskets on the compressor heads. We removed the compressor, and fully re-built the compressor, offering a full 12 months parts and labour warranty. These works were a complete system overall, including, replacing multiple solenoid valves, T.X valves, safety and oil pressure switches, drier and drier cores.

As a strong supporter, along side with the Australian government and industry of the global HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) phase-down, we used low-GWP technologies, and then recommissioning with a newer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly refrigeration R438a refrigerant gas (saving the council $10,000.00) in the refrigerant gas costs. We re-attended the Preston Library on a twice daily basis for over a weekly period to ensure the systems operation.
